SAN ANTONIO

It is easy to see why this beautiful city is often called the “ American Venice”. We'll stay on the Paseo del Rio (Riverwalk), giving you easy access to the rich history, including the Alamo. You can experience one of America's truly great festivals! Fiesta San Antonio takes place every April to honor the heroes of the Alamo as well as celebrate San Antonio's rich and diverse cultures.

Day 3, 4, 5: The imprint of the German pioneers who settled this land in the 1840's is evident in the architecture and accents of the Hill Country towns we visit.

*Johnson City, gateway to the Hill Country, but also known for the Lyndon B. Johnson Historical Park. Here we visit the famous LBJ Ranch.

*Wildseed Farms in the quaint German town of Fredricksburg, you can stroll along trails abloom with brilliant wildflowers. While in Fredricksburg you have the opportunity to sample some of that great German Cuisine.

*Cowboy Capital of the World, the little town of Bandera is known not only for it's dude ranches, but also for it's championship rodeo cowboys. We'll see the cowboys in action on a working ranch where we'll be entertained and well fed.

*New Braunfels, a picturesque town on the banks of the Guadelupe River, and is know for the Gruene Hall, Texas' oldest continuously operating dance hall. You never know what “big-name” entertainer might just happen to pop in. The Bluebonnets and other wildflowers are absolutely breathtaking, and you'll now understand why the Hill Country of Texas is known for their beautiful flowers in the Spring. Your last day in this area gives you plenty of free time in San Antonio to enjoy the festivities of Fiesta San Antonio, do some shopping or just relax on the beautiful Riverwalk.
